Gobs!!

My Grandmother used to make these when I was little. I was craving chocolate one night and found these in the cookbook she gave me! they are too good!


This is the recipe:
1c. cocoa
4c. flour
2c. sugar
1c. shortening
2tsp. vanilla
2 egg yolks
1c. buttermilk
1c. hot water
1tsp. salt
2tsp. soda

Mix all wet ingredients..then add all dry ingredients. drop by teaspoon on a greased cookie sheet. Bake 400 degrees for 8 minutes.
They do spread...I wish I would have made them smaller.

filling
2 egg whites, beaten stiff
4c. powdered sugar
2tsp. vanilla
1c. shortening
4T. flour
4T. milk
